The newly renovated BCEE building was officially inaugurated on Tuesday evening on 05.07.2016 in the presence of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie accompanied by the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Luxembourg. After a planning and construction period of 18 months, the historic structure is now ready for occupation.
The 180 employees of the Banque et Caisse d’Epargne de l’Etat will be moving in over the next several days. This former ARBED building, which symbolizes the economic history of the country like no other, is now called 19. Liberté named after its location in the capital.
